Have a 3D file? See its exact price before you pay

Upload it at partdrop.co.nz/create: sign in with your email, choose the 3D file tab and drop your file in. We check it will print and show you the exact NZD price for your actual model, worked out from its real size and the material it needs. Approve it and we print it in our Tauranga workshop and courier it to you. Uploading and pricing are free; you pay only for the print and its delivery.

STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB or PLY files, up to 50MB each. We can't open STEP, IGES or other CAD-only formats, but almost every CAD tool and slicer can export STL or 3MF - or email us and we'll tell you the quickest path.

From your file's real geometry: its printed size and how much material and printer time it needs, not a quote queue or a guess. Prices run small $11–23, medium $23–41, large $41–66, xl from $66. A chunky solid part prices higher than a slender one of the same height because it genuinely uses more material. Shipping is added at checkout and depends on where it's going. Multi-colour prints add a surcharge - your exact price is always shown before you pay.

Standard PLA in one solid colour of your choice from eight: Warm White, Sunflower Yellow, Sky Blue, Forest Green, Crimson Red, Walnut Brown, Navy Blue and Matte Black. You can also split a model into up to four colour bands, which adds a surcharge. For parts with a job to do, we also print PETG (tough, water-resistant), ASA (outdoor and UV-stable), PC (high heat) and TPU (flexible) - email us for a hand quote on those.

Up to 245mm in any direction - the full build plate. If your file is bigger than that as designed, we offer to scale it down evenly to fit, and only do it if you say yes. Or resize it, or split it into parts, and upload again. Either way you find out before you pay, not after.

Yes. Every upload goes through an automatic printability check before you see a price: we repair small mesh faults where we can, check it's a watertight solid and measure it against the print bed, and we stop before pricing anything that can't be printed as one solid piece. A clean, watertight file keeps its own shape; one with holes or lots of overlapping parts may have its surface rebuilt to make it printable, which can soften very fine detail. Every print is then checked by hand before it ships, and if we decline or can't complete your order, you're fully refunded.

Everything is made to order, so your part goes into the print queue once you approve and pay, and how soon it ships depends on the queue and the size of the print. It's then couriered within New Zealand, which takes days rather than the weeks an offshore service needs, with no customs. On a deadline? No. Uploading your file, the printability check and the price are all free, and they use no credits. Credits are only for turning a photo into a 3D model. You pay only if you approve the print, plus its delivery.

We print your file at the size it's saved at. If it was exported in metres or inches, or has no real-world size (common with game and animation models), it can come out tiny. Tick 'Resize it to a standard size instead' when you upload, pick a size, and we scale it evenly for you.

Yes. Downloaded files are welcome for your own use - just check the designer's licence allows it. We decline files that would infringe copyright or a trademark, and anything that's a real weapon. If we have to decline an order after you've paid, you're fully refunded.

Each upload is one print in standard PLA. For several copies, a batch of parts, an engineering material like PETG or TPU, or something bigger than the print bed, send the details through our custom work form and we will reply by email with what's possible and what it would cost.

Yes. Uploads are private and access-controlled, and your file is only used to check, price and print your order. We keep a copy with the order so we can reprint it if something goes wrong, and we won't use your print in our marketing without asking you first.
