Why a local printer beats an overseas one
Ordering a print from offshore means a long wait, customs, and a price in someone else's currency. We print in Tauranga and courier NZ-wide, so it arrives in days, the price is in NZD, and if something isn't right you're dealing with the person who made it.
Every print is inspected by hand before it's boxed. If we can't make it well, we refund you rather than ship it.

We print up to 245mm in any direction - the full build plate. Pricing is by size and includes courier delivery:

Do you offer 3D printing in Tauranga?
Yes - PartDrop is a one-maker workshop in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. Every print is made here and hand-checked before it ships. We're an online service rather than a walk-in shop, so you order through the site and we courier it to you anywhere in New Zealand, Tauranga included.
Can I send you my own 3D file to print?
Yes. Upload an STL, 3MF, OBJ, GLB, GLTF, STEP or PLY file and we print it as-is. You'll see the exact NZD price for your actual model before you pay - it's calculated from the real size and how much material it uses, not a guess.
What if I don't have a 3D file?
Then send a photo instead. Upload one clear photo of the object, person or pet and our 3D engine builds a printable model from it. You preview the model and approve the price before anything is printed, so there's no risk in trying.
How much does 3D printing cost in New Zealand?
Ours is priced by size and includes courier delivery anywhere in NZ. Small prints start at $27, the popular mid size is $55–90, larger pieces are $90–140 and our biggest are $140–210. Within a size, a chunkier object costs more than a slender one because it uses more material and more printer time. Premium materials (PETG, ASA, PC, TPU) and multi-colour prints add a surcharge - your exact price is always shown before you pay.
How big can you print?
Up to 245mm (about 24.5cm) in any direction - the full build plate. Anything from a keyring up to a substantial centrepiece. If a shape is too large or too heavy to print reliably at that size, we'll tell you before you pay rather than after.
What materials can you print in?
Standard PLA by default, which suits keepsakes, figurines and display pieces. For parts that need to do a job we also print PETG (tough and water-resistant), ASA (outdoor and UV-stable), PC (high-heat and strong) and TPU (flexible). Premium materials add a surcharge, shown before you pay.
How long does a 3D print take to arrive in NZ?
Everything is made to order, so your part is printed after you approve it, then couriered. Because we print in New Zealand there's no overseas shipping wait and no customs - it arrives in days rather than the weeks an offshore service takes. If you have a deadline, message us first and we'll confirm what's possible.
Do you print in colour?
Every print is one solid filament colour of your choice from eight - Warm White, Matte Black, Sunflower Yellow, Sky Blue, Navy Blue, Forest Green, Crimson Red and Walnut Brown. You can also add colour bands in the editor for a multi-colour piece, which adds a surcharge.
